We left Augusta in one piece and as previously reported moved north a little bit to The Jewel Cave. Some 252 stairs later Jude was jubilant at having achieved them, not to mention the awsomeness of the caves themselves…..
Onwards north a little bit to Margaret River and a farm stay. I seem to remember a better time at this same farm stay back a few years, but it was OK for the duration of our exploration of MR. I was most impressed last time with Voyager Estate vineyard and just had to show both Jude and Robyn what I was on about, however I don’t think they exactly shared my enthusiasm for this estate. You be the judge….
and you don’t even get to see a vine. But it is a beautiful place.
Jude remembered Millers Ice Cream. We went looking but no could find. There was an ice cream vendor in town that sold the Millers brand but we learnt that the Millers business was not what it used to be and so, disappointingly, we just had to settle for an ordinary ice cream. Weather continued to be unkind to us and whilst attempting a sunset photo off Gracetown Beach the best we could manage was storm clouds and seas….I think thats Gracetown Beachon t
From Margaret River twas on to Busselton. Busselton again. But, this time we found the best caravan park we’ve experienced – ‘Mandalay’, right on the foreshore and beautifully presented, even down to heated floors in the amenities and 3 separate temperature pools. We also finally managed the Busselton Pier – twice previously we were washed out. 1.8 km out to sea it would be a hell of a walk, so we took the train….
Now I do have pictures of the train but IPhones don’t seem to want to co-operate with photos in sequence and whilst I can see it on the phone but it will not download. All of the photos either side of it will but the one I want won’t. Technology defeats this troglodyte yet again. Anyway, we finally got to the aquarium at the end of the pier…
and if you can’t see much, nor could we. However, we got there.
It was only a short 80km drive to Gnomesville from Busselton! – but since we had 3 days there it sort of made sense to use one of those days to go there. Now there’s a long story associated with Gnomesville but perhaps a few pics might tell something of the story…
and if you don’t get the picture, there is probably more than 10,000 gnomes here, in the middle of nowhere. Oh,there are some short stories to tell!
Its late and I’m buggered so I’ll publish this cos I can and go to bed but there is more to follow in due course.
good night Dick!!!!!
